Do you get that salty substance?

Asked by chicadelplaya (2218points) December 12th, 2008

Just about daily in the afternoon, I find that I have this salty substance build up around my eyebrows, particularly towards the top of my nose. I think it’s interesting. Does anyone else experience this?

I can’t say I have had this problem. I’ve never heard of salty eyebrows. But I have to say if you can lick yours, you must be very popular!

Are you sure it’s not just your dried up sweat? If you eat lots of salty food or don’t drink a lot of water it might be more concentrated and thus more salty.

It gets hot out there on the playa and all the glisten and glow (never sweat of course) ends up concentrating itself in the eyebrows, which end up salty.

Dry skin, maybe? If it’s the cold season where you live, and the humidity is low, it could be flaky dry skin that tastes of your own salty sweat.

No flakey, dry skin. Salt for sure. Thinking dynamicduo might be on the right track.
