As a second choice, I would say Charlie Brown Christmas special. For a Jew, I sure do like a lot of xmas stuff.

Another vote for the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. That’s my number two choice.

I’m sort of a grinch and really am not into a lot of holiday things but I watch About A Boy every Christmas- equal parts real, touching, funny, and free of holiday mush.

“A Christmas Story” followed by “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Then “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Raggedy_Ann's avatar

It’s a Wonderful Life is my all time favorite. Followed by Santa Baby and A Christmas Carol.

‘White Christmas’, naturally.

I don’t actually like most Christmas movies. They all seem quite contrived to me.

However, an exception is made for the animated How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Not for the live action version though, ugh.

The best Christmas movie of all time is a Muppet’s Christmas Carol. I can’t believe no one has mentioned this movie yet.

rossi_bear's avatar

@overshard.. i have been waiting for that one too. i love that one too. so cute! gotta love the muppets!!

Oh, and I am a huge fan of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, the new one, with Jim Carrery.

White Christmas.

”...It’s not good, but it’s a reason.”

My dad’s Christmas movie list: Lethal Weapon, Die Hard and Die Hard 2, and so on. Every possible action movie set at Christmastime; and he really watches them all.

I like the Rudolf one from the 60’s or whenever. I also like Charlie Brown.

Last year I was off on maternity leave and I got into watching different versions of A Christmas Carol. They’re all kind of interesting, the similarities and the differences.

A good movie that’s about Christmas but is not a traditional Christmas movie is The Family Stone, with Diane Keaton and Sarah Jessica Parker.

White Christmas
And a bunch of other Danny Kaye movies.

My mom met him when she was a little girl in New York and he kinda took her under his wing when he was on Broadway for Two By Two. Now, we have his movies, like all over the house. All of them. But that one is a Christmas must.

rossi_bear's avatar

@jca.. I have seen that one too, loved it!! @asmonet.. that is really cool!! she is one lucky person to have met Danny!!

asmonet's avatar

@rossi: I know, I’m super jealous of her. He even hid her a few times behind the ark on stage during performances. That’s so badass.

grumble, jealous grumble.

rossi_bear's avatar

@asmonet.. way cool!! she is one lucky lady!! i can just picture her face now as a kid. that had to be really something!! :) Danny has a good heart!!

Nobody’s said The Nightmare Before Christmas yet? I’m shocked! Shocked, I say!

I love The Nightmare Before Christmas. I never really had any urge to watch it until early this year, and I ended up watching it 3 times in one weekend. I’m definitely getting it out to watch on christmas eve :P
