Cut photo into a circle?

Just moved to mac. I have a photo that I want to crop into a circle. I don’t have photoshop or any 3rd party software. Is there a way to do this in OSX?

You can do this in Preview. Hold down the select button for a few seconds to show the drop down menu and you can select “Elliptical Selection”. It looks like this.

Select what you want and choose Tools—> Crop.
