I just got home last night from some unexpected surgery. I have to take it easy for the next few days. What should I do? Can someone suggest movie ideas? Any cool xbox360 games out there that would be fun? I don’t feel like reading or painting or using my brain to much. I just kind of wanna veg out.

Comedies and lots of them! Just silly, goofy nutty comedies! Oh wait, will too much laughing rip the stitches?

If you have a Nintendo DS, that’s great. You can play it reclining and there are a variety of games. I honestly would have been bored out of my mind when I had mono had I not had mine.

@supermouse: No stitches, just glue and tons of bandage. Weird huh?

Ha, they put you together like IKEA furniture. Stick the parts together occasionally twist something in a hole and boom. A couch.

Call of Duty. Play it online.

Glue!?!?!?
EDITED: Had to add a few more interrobangs.

Yeah Glue…I know! Fucking GLUE!

Lost the TV show, and start from the beginning. I got addicted to that show.

If you don’t want to move around much I suggest finding a nice place, couch bedroom, wherever that you can watch TV. Make a little nook and have a cooler by you with beverages and snacks right there. I had to do that when I was on total bedrest.

atleast you won’t have staple/stitch scars

In that case, whatever activity you choose should involve staying very, very still (and dry).
I know. I know. I’m full of helpful advice.

Maybe rent an entire HBO series?

I know it tends to be a girly thing but it really passed the time for me… Scrapbooking. It doesn’t require a lot of brain activity I always feel accomplished when I finish a pretty scrapbook. I’m sure Mrs. Chop would be impressed. :) :)

I’m addicted to Call of Duty 5 on the 360. I could waste days away on that.

Do you have NetFlix?

Oblivion and Mass effect. At least 50hrs gameplay right there.

If you have some points to spend, try Carcassonne. Well I guess you can get the demo for free. It’s not as good as the actual tile game, but it’s still a fun little game to play!

Oh, I also recommend Beautiful Katamari, it’s the newest Katamari game on next gen consoles and it’s really fun to play too. Maybe it has a demo. I’d have fun playing all the demos myself, and maybe buying anything that looked interesting.

I got hooked on the Season 2 of Boston Legal. I had never seen it before. It’s really funny and I plan on getting season 3.

Movies. Comedy is great. Or watch The Office or other TV shows, or use iTunes to catch up to the ones you’ve missed.

A 360 with CoD4/5, Halo, Live, and Netflix provides endless entertainment.

Get Left 4 Dead! It is one of the coolest games out there! Nothing like killing zombies and THEN taking your turn as the zombies trying to stop other people! I haven’t been this addicted to a game in soo long! Also if you are gonna play offline I would reccommend Fallout 3, simply awesome!

Trying calling or emailing someone that you haven’t spoken to in a long time.

How about some classic video games? You can download an emulator and play them on your computer. Nothing like a trip down memory lane during the holidays…

judochop's avatar

I’ve opted for some movies I’ve wanted to see.
Chop Shop
Kingdom of Crystal Skulls
And some westerns.

Watch season one of Mad Men or Damages. You can do them all in one go. I did.

judochop's avatar

I’ll give Mad Men a go. Thanks

I’m with krose1223!

Start from the beginning of Lost (Season 1!) and work your way through Season 4! All episodes can be found on the ABC website. I did that this past summer and it has improved the quality of my life by leaps and bounds!!

DO IT!

Rent the HBO series Deadwood, Rome, and/or True Blood.
Porn, and gentle ‘self-attention’ should kill a few hours, too. ;)

krose1223's avatar

@jjd- Oh yeah, been there, done that, got that t-shirt!! I wear it proudly too.

I recommend to you a Need for speed. That one could be fine on for few days.I mean for chilling

krose1223's avatar

You can always just stay on Fluther all day. :)

Or watch the episodes of Veronica Mars with Andrew in them.

I’m half way through, and it’s starting to look like he’s the rapist. (ZOMG!) I’m not 100% sure though.

a few light exercises are key to a healthy recovery:

1) call everyone you know
2) tell them of your plight
3) when they come to visit, watch as they cook and clean for you.

shadling21's avatar

@Cat- Best suggestion yet.

richardhenry's avatar

Seriously, watch it. It’s actually great. It’s like Scooby Doo in college. With that out of the way…
