Oh god. Ouch.

Have you consulted a doctor yet? Maybe get a donut pillow thing to sit on. Along with painkillers and hot showers that should help. I hope you feel better. I’ve been googling and it looks like depending on the severity pain can last weeks to months and complications can last for years. Get thee to a doctor.

@asmonet… you got that one right. it is a big ouchy!! :(

I had a skateboard fall do the same thing to my tailbone only mine abscessed and ruptured. It took me about a month to get over it. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e349/maybelsue/attachment-1.jpg

Oh for fuck’s sake, Buster! Not what I needed in the wee hours of the morning!!

And that can’t be helping poor Rossi.

I’m also laughing at how absurd this thread is to me now. Buster, haha, why are you so willing to moon us?

@asmonet.. yes i went to the hospital when it happened to make sure it was not broke. they said it was badly bruised. they did give me a donut ring and it sure does help to sit. and they gave me pain meds. they said it might take several months to help and i was hoping they were just telling me that so that i am aware it is going to take some time to heal. but not that long. i guess it is a waiting game and being careful at what i am doing. thank you for taking the time to look it up for me. I like to come here and see what everyone has to say too.

Do it, JP. You know you wanna… Don’t you wanna be cool like the rest of us?

No prob, Rossi. :)
I honestly hope it doesn’t take long for you, I have a vague memory of one of my friends bruising theirs. I’ll try to ask her about it in the morning.

I don’t know about bruised but when I fell and broke my tailbone it took about 3 months of lugging that donut pillow around before I felt better. I would say if your in a lot of pain go see a doctor or chiropractor. Trust me it maybe more than a bruise.

rossi_bear's avatar

@buster.. that is just wrong. i needed an honest answer not joking like you did here. i truly needed help.

asmonet's avatar

Wow, gotta love how a question about asses brings out five composing members. Sometimes we’re so predictable.

jrpowell's avatar

Honest answer. It will start to feel better in about a week. But you are going to hurt for a few months.

rossi_bear's avatar

@cooksalot.. thanks i did see the dr. as soon as it happened. see above. but thank you !!!

cooksalot's avatar

In total it took about 6 months before I was completely healed up. By then I had developed scoliosis from the fracture, and would find this out for another 2 years.

rossi_bear's avatar

@cooksalot.. oh no!! i have scoliosis too. i have had it for years.

cooksalot's avatar

I find that the Chiropractor helps with the back pain a lot.

rossi_bear's avatar

@cooksalot… thank you I will have my dr. work on me. i have a dr. that does all that. thanks again.

rossi_bear's avatar

@buster.. sorry that happened to you. how long before the abscessed showed up?

cooksalot's avatar

@buster I have just one thing to say OUCH!!! Glad that didn’t happen to me.

It was probably about a week after I fell that I noticed a puffy lump that kept growing. Then a week after that it ruptured. My moms a nurse thankfully and for two weeks she had to pack gauze into it. It slowly closed up. I felt like I was wearing a tampon. The first week after it happened I didnt go to the doc and commuted 90 minutes to and from work. That was misery. After it closed up I could manage the ride and weaned off the vicodin. It still hurt for a couple months after the abscess healed but I had manageable nagging pain for two more months or so. One month hell. Two months noticeable pain.

rossi_bear's avatar

@buster.. oh i know about the packing there, my hubby had to have it done too. no fun that is for sure!! thank you for your answer (without the picture.) :)

@buster, holy shit!!!!! Now, as my son is at the local indoor skatepark for an all night lock-in, all I can think of is your ruptured ass.

Yeah, we should all refrain from popularity type questions.
But rossi_bear should win some kind of prize for asking a question
that elicited Buster posting a picture of his “ruptured ass”.
That’s some kind of amazing, right?

Hope you feel better, Rossi.

asmonet's avatar

Some kind of amazing, not necessarily the best kind, Nimis.

bythebay's avatar

I fear that image might be burned into my brain…ugh

asmonet's avatar

@bythebay: Depending on the inflection you give ‘ugh’ in that sentence…it could sound like you like it.

I’m sleep deprived. I need to wash my dirty brain.

bythebay's avatar

Um, yeah, no. It’s not so much a like it ugh, it’s a gross ugh! :)

rossi_bear's avatar

@augustian… thank you.:0)
