What did you always want for Christmas/Hannukah but never got?

Asked by SuperMouse (30845points) December 23rd, 2008

When I was a kid I always wanted one of those Lifesavers Storybooks in my stocking but I never got one. My stockings (which were my father’s dress socks, not actual Christmas stockings) were always filled with pencils. Yes, pencils.

For a while, I wanted a kitten…of course, I never got that one.

I also used to want a Lip Smackers lip balm necklace in my stocking. (It had three different flavors on it!) Most of my friends had them, and, of course, I thought that they were the coolest things ever. Santa was always “out of chapstick necklaces,” though. :(

I used to get one of those Lifesavers storybooks in my stocking every year!

A Red Ryder BB gun with a compass in the stock.

@Astro! It is probably just as well that you didn’t get it, you would have shot your eye out!

I wanted a ninja turtles airplane with a trigger/handle on the bottom that produced a smoke filled bubble bomb which would fall to the ground and burst.

I wanted Barbie’s Malibu Beach House——or something like that! Anyway, I couldn’t get it because my parents thought that $100 for a toy dollhouse was ridiculous (which it is!).

A baby brother or sister. It’s tough being the youngest of six, and I always wanted to share my wisdom. I’m still the youngest of six, but I have given three wonderful children my wisdom. Or something like that.

Oh, and now if I ask for something I get it!!!

Roller skates. I was tired of always wearing the rentals, when all the cool kids had their own with neon colored wheels and such. My grandparents bought me some, but they had these teeny, tiny red wheels on them…I think they were meant for a much younger child. They also always gave me generic ’ 11” Fashion Dolls’ when I asked for Barbies! Being poor kinda’ sucked.
