Any romantic music ideas?

Asked by FrankHebusSmith (4319points) January 7th, 2009

So my laptop was stolen a few days ago. Thats a whole separate mess, but one thing I’m looking to replace is my romantic playlist. This was a playlist I had of more “romantic” songs that I would play when I was like making out or something. I remember a lot of the songs but I thought, this would be a good opportunity to expand my horizons so to say. Has anyone got some suggestions? I’ll take any style of music, but most of my original list fell under indie/alternative, with a little bit of softer songs from more of “rock” bands.

Halo by Depeche Mode
Anything from the 69 Love Songs album by Magnetic Fields
Hounds of Love by either Kate Bush or the cover by The Futureheads
This Modern Love by Bloc Party
Oh, and The Shins. Any Shins.

My one mainstreamer: I’m Not in Love by 10cc. Even when I was a little girl, I’d hear this song on the radio and think, “That guy is totally lying! He’s so in love!”

Smashing Pumpkins has many. Dave Matthews is good also. May I also suggest some Barry White?

To fit your soft/indie requirement then try:

‘Gabriel’ by Lamb or
‘Lean on me’ by Beth Orton and Terry Callier

Definitely check them out if you’ve not heard them.
