Floccinaucinihilipilification!

Also, Dinosaur. Because I won a spelling bee with it.

I can spell them both really fast too. :D

@jonsblond; No, it’s fine, but it does come up regularly. Luckily, there are always new members or old ones (see uber) who are constantly refining their vocabulary, with the help of their user-friendly shrimp.

@jonsblond – gailcalled was just saying that her favorite word this time was “cyclical”

@asmonet – i bet that ability comes in really handy, lol

My favorite word this time is Frostsaber

You have no idea. It’s gotten me free drinks in bars!

Also, NERD! Frostsaber

I love the word bamboo & judo. I know that they are not significant or anything, not fancy at all but they sound really cool.

my two favorite words are vulgar, but that’s typical for the likes of me given my reputation on here as being sort of an asshole, as has been noted on more than one occasion The first is IDJIT. Thanks to Yosemite Sam for teaching me that one. And the second, well, I won’t type it here. It rhymes with DUCK. One word I do like is reference, but only because it is fun to type. Sorry none of my words aren’t more than three syllables, but I’m sorely unedumacated, doncha know.

My favorite is still susurrus.

What about aa.
“aa” is a type of lava or something.
And then there is the city of “Faaa” 3 a’s. It is in French Polynesia (?), different culture, but still cool.

Blondesjon's avatar

Tarnation…my thanks to Yosemite Sam as well.

Toss up between glass, crumble, brittle and shatter. I’m aware that they’re all related. I also enjoy a certain word beginning with ‘F’ which I feel bad about repeating because I’m a moderator.

Word, just because it’s the herb. You guys know what I’m sayin’?

My current favorite is tintinnabulation. As is usual for my favorites, it sounds like what it is: the sound of bells ringing.

This is a good summation of great words, and amusing to boot.

I also really like “gesticulate.”

@Schenectandy Especially pronounced the Canadian way: aboot!

EmpressPixie's avatar

Petrichor

It’s one of my favorite things in the world and also my favorite word because I went so long not knowing there was a word for it, when I found out there was, I was just so happy.

augustlan's avatar

@EmpressPixie Oooh, that is my new favorite word. Just reading it, I could smell it!

jonsblond's avatar

@augustlan I was thinking the same. I never knew there was an actual word for that. That smell relaxes me, I love it!
@EmpressPixie Thank you for teaching me something new today.

nebule's avatar

@EmpressPixie genius…thank you x

I wonder if that word also applies to the smell of rain on asphalt, which for some reason always takes me back to my childhood.
