I just heard from Brian Williams show that security 4K strong will be in place with 150 blocks closed to traffic at 4:00am. Jets and helicopters in the air, high powered water craft with twin 50 caliber machineguns, snipers on every roof top, 5K manhole covers welded shut. What a mess!

Not soon enough. Bush is still lurking around in the White House and needs to get the boot.

I can watch it before Rotary! Fucking A! Glad I logged on.

Is the Rotary like the Masons, the Elks, or the American Legion? Never heard of “Rotary”. Sorry. I live in the Nevada desert near Area 51.

I can’t imagine anyone actually commuting to the DC area for work tomorrow. Think of the crowds!
If I were them, I would just take a sick day…renting out every room in my house though :)

Rush Limbaugh said DC has become Port-A-Potty City.

Noon EST is the start, but there’s a media hoopla on every network ever.

I seriously do not remember this much craze over the W inaugurations.

I think noon EST is the actual swearing in. I haven’t seen a play-by-play timetable, but I believe there are preliminaries starting at 11:30. I would like to tune in early enough to see the outgoing and the incoming presidents get into a car together for the ride to the Capitol—always a dramatic moment to me (what in the world do they say to each other during that ride?)—but I don’t know when that is. I’m going to miss anything that happens before 8:00 a.m. PST, but some stations around here are picking up coverage at 4:00 a.m.

Well… American history wasn’t being made when we let W be inaugurated… twice.

1.30 am here in Western Australia, but I’ll be asleep in my wee bed.
