The easiest way is to publish them yourself. There are any number of publishing houses that will make books of your poetry, for the right price. It’s your job to sell them, though, and that’s the hard part.

The second way is to “win” a “poetry contest” that will include your poem with the poems of other people who entered the contest in a bound anthology. This is kind of a scam since the real purpose is to sell you a book with your poem in it so you can show your friends and squee, “See? I’m published!”—but if that’s the goal, this is one way to acheive it.

A better way is to pick up a copy of the newest Writer’s Market, a book that tells what publications are looking for as far as submissions from the public. If your poems are a good match for one of the publications listed in Writer’s Market, you could follow their guidelines and send them in.

The most professional way is to get an agent. Thousands of poems are sent to publishers every day and they are thrown out without even being cracked open, because most of them are lame. Works that are submitted by agents have a greater chance of getting read, and possibly selected for publishing. Of course, your agent will be paid, probably a percent of what you make from your writing. Agents know the industry and know what publishers are looking for, and can help negotiate for you.
