Fall for me. The heat is finally subsiding, the leaves are turning into magnificent colors, the air is crisp, bonfire season, football season, corn mazes, the fact that snow is just around the corner, and it includes my favorite holiday Halloween. kids are back in school too!

From this question:

Spring has it’s appeal – new growth, new life, a welcome warming after the trials of wintertime. But autumn gets my vote for favorite season. There’s an urgency to fall, that last opportunity to take care of business before winter sets in. The beauty seems more fleeting, more transient, and all the more stunning because of it. The sights, smells, and tastes linger in the memory. How many visceral memories are tied to the smell of leaves burning, pumpkin pies baking, apple cider, funnel cake at the state fair? How many of those scents take us all the way back to childhood?

Fall is when I insist on time to myself to go camping, to travel, to work in the yard. I celebrate this time of year with great relish.

The leaves are crunching underfoot and the forests are on fire, yet do not burn.

Autumn.

Autumn, especially in New England. For me it’s the feel of the crisp air that requires a hoodie, going to apple orchards and drinking hot cider, the smells of changing leaves, woodsmoke, pumpkin and maple-flavored things and heartier dinners cooking. I also love the whole act of getting back-to-school supplies. It’s also a great excuse to hibernate, watch movies, catch up on books and and start wearing a cozy scarf. I also like the light at that time of year better, too.

Winter in the Highlands of Scotland… But don’t drink the water!
NZ in winter…
Spring down South, and up North in Western Australia when all the wildflowers are in bloom…
Spring in Scotland when the daffodills come out in bloom…
Long warm summer nights on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, watching Sea Otters playing in the shallows… Awesome…

the first sun after the long blue northern winter: suddenly we have to be outdoors as if we’d never heard of it before

My answer to the same question Syz linked to:

As far as seasons go, fall is the one. All the reasons already mentioned make early fall my favorite stretch of time all year. However, late fall brings a sense of melancholy with it…the ever increasing darkness; winter’s cold, gray days; the sense of time passing too quickly as another year-end looms.
My favorite day in any year belongs to spring. The first day that I can “feel” spring in the air and see that lovely shade of new green that exists at no other time brings me more joy than words can express.
