First thing out of your head: what would you write a song about right now?

Asked by wundayatta (58722points) February 4th, 2009

Please try not to think too much.

Where do you think that idea came from?

Hangovers

well you wanted the first thing out of my head!

Pancakes. They’re so sweet, such a treat. Add a bit of jam, maybe a touch of meat.

It would have to be the second thing, because I have U2’s “Silver and Gold” in my head right now.

I skimmed through “Rattle and Hum” a few days ago, because I had never seen it.

how i’m so handsome and nobody loves me. (shh, secretly i’m morrissey!)

My favorite songwriters: Harry Chapin, Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, and Shawn Phillips.

Polishing glazed clay pots along a lovely garden path..some are cracked and some are broken…but the path is whole and wonderful.

Werewolves.

Probably a combination of answering the Twilight question and the Rock Band question. I had I’m So Sick by whoever it is in my head (see RB question), but then came here and was thinking about Hungry Like the Wolf which I continue to (jokingly) insist is about Werewolves. I’d write a really great pop-rock sock about Werewolves.

Being sick… ugh. It would be a blues song.

I would write a poem about man’s history of believing the world will end in 2012. Obama himself said if he didn’t fix things in four years it would be the end. Shamalan quoted Einstein ‘bees die, man has four years life’. The Happening came out in 2008. Not quite a poem. More like an epic saga.

A song about how to survive these long midwestern winters. :-(

I’d do a classic re-make of the diarrhea song.

wundayatta's avatar

@dlm812: Don’t you think one remake is enough?!?

Hobbes's avatar

@steve6 – I agree: “The Happening” is, without a doubt, a herald of the apocalypse.

A love song to Fluther.

A song about pain and death. My husband’s step-mother died a few days ago, the funeral is today and my fibromyalgia is kicking my ass today.

Making connections.

I’ve decided to hook up my computer’s video card to my old school CRT HDTV and I’m not sure how to do it.

If Starbucks is hurting, then why is it always soo crowded?
I’m in line as I type.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@tinyfaery it’s morning in America? people still go, but not 3 times a day. or they don’t order the $6 pink fru fru drinks that aren’t really coffee.

i mean, when i go (even back in the day) i just get coffee or an americano. the most i’ll splurge on is a Pumpkin Latte, once in a great while, when it’s cold.

dlm812's avatar

@daloon Well… you said not to think too hard. I took that in a literal sense. I was just thinking about the movie Parenthood with Steve Martin and then saw this question, so it made me think of that. ;)

My President is black, my lambo is blue, and I’d be damned if my rims ain’t too.

I’d probably write a song about my bestfriend poopin on my neighbors driveway.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@critter1982 wow, jay-z and defecation. cool.

re: the best friend, why is that the first thing coming to you? is he doing that right now?

critter1982's avatar

Not really sure. That was the first thing that came to my mind. Well that retarded rap song was the first, the 2nd was him pooping on the driveway. Not really sure why, just kind of out of the blue.

Picking produce at the market. Probably because walking through the market makes me want to cook hundreds of fresh foods and I was thinking about what to make for dinner.

I don’t want to go back to work.

I am away at our favorite retreat right now, a rental cottage in the coastal mountains. Every day away makes the prospect of returning to work seem dimmer, darker, duller, and more deadly.

I’d write a song that makes the whole world sing. I would probably include love and special things. I might add something to make the young girls cry. I’d write that song…yes, I’d write that song.

why? ‘cuz i am music and I write the songs

tiffyandthewall's avatar

my first thought was avoiding chemistry homework every time by going on fluther.
my second thought (more song appropriate, though maybe not as interesting, and more on the country music route) would be how i want a pick up truck and a spanish style house and a little garden on the side.

NaturalMineralWater's avatar

I would write a song about a song that was about writing songs.
