A florist in Westchester is selling five foot tall roses for Valentine's Day at $30 each. Would you buy any?

No. What? No. What would you even do with a five foot tall rose? Who has a vase that slender/tall? What’s the point? How to move it, how to keep it, why bother?

What a waste of money.

Each rose costs $0.45 (I know, I’m well related in the rose business here) in the farm, there is no way on earth that s$h could rise the price that high, you can get 2 dozens of premium roses for $5.00 and a dozen of the big ones for $6.00 more and less, depending on the color you like… that’s one of the few good things about Ecuador, roses are cheap lol

@Mr_M – lol, all i’m saying is that you can do a lot of other things with $360. But I guess if you have the money to spend, why not? I prefer tulips and peonies though ;)

You can get “passion” for much less than $700 depending on what street corner you go to.

Oh, you mean from your desired partner? No one but them can tell you. With me, a heartfelt expression of love is much better than a monetary expression. I’ll take a home-made “I love you” card over a million roses any day. Then again, not all girls are like me.

@Mr_M – I lurve you long time :)... But I agree with @dynamicduo, something homemade and heartfelt is the way to go. Like cooking her dinner or offering a massage. You just need a little creativity and imagination!

Seriously, 5 foot roses? You’d give them to the girl and she would have to cut the stems off just so they would fit in a vase, totally not worth it.

Er, if I spent $360 on 5 foot roses and the girl cut them to fit in a regular vase, I think I just might commit murder?! :)

True, I even sent you a message to talk a little about your days here, I have to say that checking out the volcanoes from the window every morning is pretty amazing, there is more bio diversity here than in any other part of the world, you can catch amazing twilights and breaking dawns, pretty much everything is a 4 hour drive form Quito, we have some kind of spring weather all year round, never too cold, never too hot, it can even take your breath away sometimes, from a biologist point of view is like going to disney with an unlimited package, well, sort of, but you know, for the permanent residents, the “other” things are what makes us think “what the hell!”
