Stash earl gray!

Stash is good stuff but there’s a great tea shop here in town so I usually buy loose leaf – to cement my level of tea snobbery to those who care to have a cup with me while they visit.

Pickwick, because they are the only ones (that I’ve found) who make my absolute favorite, which is raspberry rose.

This falls into a few catagories. First if you are talking supermarket I think Republic of Tea does it best and they have so many options now. I like their double maatcha for afternoon pick me up. Or for evening, their ginger lemon, no caff and it’s good. If you are speaking of higher quality there are a few great places. One in Berkeley called Far Leaves Tea, you can go there and sit crossed legged up stair for a few zen moments, it’s really sweet. Pete’s tea is pretty good for mass production. PGTips/Tetley rounds from England is a nice strong black if you can find the real import. Then there is the selection at Rainbow supermarket which is kick ass good. Also Ten Ren, out of Tai Pei but they have a store here supposedly. They have a spring tea that is harvested once a year and is amazing. You can get it with Osmanthus flower for an off the charts tea experieince. Also Nijaya Market in Japantown has a great selection of good greens, I highly recommend that.
And of course the old standby, Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime before bed, works like a charm.
Will check my stash and see if I missed anything…

“Two Leaves and a Bud”. I doubt that it is the best tea but it has a great name. I really like the flowering teas a lot especially green tea.

I prefer loose teas from tea shops, but if i’m buying them in stores Stash (pomegranate raspberry green tea), Yogi (Mayan Cocoa Spice) or if i’m in the mood for just a nice simple cup of tea PG Tips (I used to date a Brit and when I was visiting her in England I found that they drink this stuff, not Twinings and it’s SOOOO good!).

Mighty Leaf Earl Grey is my favorite right now. Loose leaf.

Mighty Leaf is probably my favorite, but soooo expensive, I’m not going to be able to replace what I have now when I run out. Other than that I like MarketSpice teas.
