I can be in a perfectly good modd leaving the house, but if I walk outside and it’s windy, I immediately get pissed off.

I’m definitely more cheerful and motivated to do things when it is warm and sunny. I hate winter quarter at school because I never feel completely happy or energetic when I’m cold or it it’s gloomy out, and so my grades are never as good as they are during fall or spring quarters.

@lakersfuture – hey baby!!! i HATE RAIN!!!!

I do too and snow too it keeps me away from you

I love cloudy, rainy, snowy days. It puts me in a great mood. If we have more than a week of sunshine, I’m miserable. It’s not that often that I meet another person that feels this way.

I can have sunshine on a cloudy day. I can feel beaten down by life on the most lovely May morning. It depends on what’s going on with me rather than what nature’s deciding to do outside.

Yup. It’s cold, snowy and overcast here in Ontario. I just wanted to crawl back into bed this morning, pull the covers over my head and sleep. This winter is getting to be way too long (for most people here) and when there’s a prolonged period of lack of sunlight and cold days, I find a lot people get bitchy/moody. Give me a coolish day, but, with sunlight and I’m happy girl. =)

i feel like i cant enjoy anything when it rains. nothing (outdoors/outside of my house) is fun. lol, even if someones like “lets go see a movie!!” (i LOVE movies) if its raining, it loses its appeal to me. nothing is fun.

@jonsblond – wow, thats strange. so in movies when someone dies or something sad happens and it rains for symbolic reasons, you see it as a happy mood?

Cold weather makes me cranky because it sparks my arrithic pain. Rainy days make me feel sleepy and kinda lazy. (I heard somewhere that the humidity from rainy days makes less oxygen content in the air we breathe, and that’s why we feel droopy. I have no idea if it’s true.) That’s when I want to curl up with a good book.

Sunny spring days make me the happiest!

I tend, when it rains, to be really tired and lazy. When it is sunny and cool I absolutely love it, and winter I absolutely hate because I never feel warm. The only bonus to winter and rainy days is being able to cuddle with the person you care about and watch a movie.

jonsblond's avatar

@futurelaker88 I’m talking about my feelings, not movies. So it’s strange that I love rain and snow, for me it isn’t.

@jonsblond I think he is curious and asking a question I don’t think that he is trying to make you out to be a bad person… he is curious I think.

jonsblond's avatar

@futurelaker88 If it rains in a movie because of symbolic reasons, I do not see it as a happy moment. It’s a movie, not my life.

@lakersfuture I never once thought that 88 was trying to say that I was a bad person for liking rain. That would be silly now, wouldn’t it?

lakersfuture's avatar

yea, sorry, i just didn’t want it to be taken the wrong way thats all… I agreed with your answe above a little bit. I don’t like it all the time, but sometimes I just like those days. I sometimes like the way it looks.

Well when it rains, I like it. For instance, last night it stormed here, and I slept better than I have all week. It’s been overcast now though all day, and I’ve been extremely counter-productive. Over the past hour though it has been thundering, and more rain is coming closer and closer, and I’m becoming more productive as it comes. Something about the rain and stormy weather gives me so much energy and makes me want to do something. If it’s just a nice smooth rain though, I always have a strong urge to play Ghost Recon for some reason. lol Weird right?

When it’s extremely hot, humid, and sunny, I just want to stay indoors and do whatever. If it isn’t too humid though, I’m up for anything outside and I become extremely competitive I think. I’m a big sports guy, so getting everyone together for a game of pick-up football, ultimate frisbee, or some tennis, is all that I want to do when it’s hot and sunny. Just leave humidity out of it though. lol

When it’s cold, just give me some hot chocolate, a book, or a good movie. lol That’s my bundle up and relax weather. lol

I don’t mind a day (or night) of rain, but when it’s overcast for a significant period of time my mood definitely sours. I need sunshine! Spring is my absolute favorite time of year due to the sun finally being around on a regular basis.

JoeyDesignsStuff's avatar

My ability to drive with my windows down in the sunshine while comfortably dressed definitely affects my mood.

nebule's avatar

funnily enough…I find that my mood changes the weather…. seriously!

scamp's avatar

@lynneblundell and my eyes change color with my moods!! weird, huh?

tiffyandthewall's avatar

i know it’s sad that i never gave a damn about the weather, but it never gave a damn about me…

it was just about impossible for me to resist the urge to quote that song

I could be entirely happy with overcast, gray skies for weather almost every month of the year. Not always with rain but I wouldn’t mind seeing more of that either. I’m probably the odd man out on this but for the most part, I really don’t like clear, sunny days.

If I’m in a cold weather environment, I’m not very happy at all. I’ve never liked the cold weather and I try to avoid it as much as I can.

mcbealer's avatar

I don’t cope well in high humidity.
I suppose growing up in south FL with no air conditioning has something to do with my dislike for the dog days of summer.

If you get bummed when it rains try to wear bright colors and use ambient lighting when indoors to brighten things up a bit. It really does work!

Blondesjon's avatar

@scamp…My eyes do that too! They are normally hazel but can go green when I’m really excited to dark brown when I’m “full of shit.”

that what my grandma dorothy used to say…

scamp's avatar

@Blondesjon ha ha! My Uncle used to say my eyes were brown because i was a quart low!!(of the same substancce) they are green when I am content, and blue when I am sad. If they turn grey…. watch out!! ha ha In my case, the eyes really are a window to the soul. Is that your eye in your avatar?

adreamofautumn's avatar

Absolutely. Always. My mental health and the weather are so inextricably linked that I sometimes worry that living in New England really isn’t such a hot idea.

MacBean's avatar

@jonsblond—I’m the same way! Too much sunshine makes me anxious and depressed, and I can’t deal with cloudless skies.

jonsblond's avatar

@MacBean I love a rainy night

augustlan's avatar

What a beautiful sight…

Judi's avatar

Moving out of Oregon and into California was like a curtin opening up. The dark rain was SOOOOOOO depressing!

JellyB's avatar

To some degree, yes. Rainy and cloudy days cheer me up instantly. Very hot and humid days annoy me, especially if i have to be busy on those days.
