Does anybody know where I can get back issues of magazines?

Asked by careerbassmaster (188points) March 2nd, 2009

I love my magazine subscriptions and save my favorites to read again later. Does anyone know where I can get magazine back issues from times I let my subscriptions expire?

If you just want to read them, not own them, try the library.

To buy them, maybe eBay? Some magazines themselves do offer their own back issues, too. Depends on the magazine.

Try magazine websites, or photocopy them at the library, if all else fails. Ebay and Craigslist are also options.

Some magazines offer digital back issues through either their own site or a third party. I used to work at NewsStand and they have some magazines they offer for publishers. Many offer back issues as well.

Each publisher defines their own policy regarding back issue availability and how long you can retain them, so check out the fine print before buying a complete stash anywhere.

Olive Software and Zinio offer similar products for different magazines. It may be an alternative to having all the printed issues around, depending on the titles you’re looking for.

Actually the best places are doctor and dentist waiting rooms… of course all the coupons have been ripped out.
