Time has passed now, who likes the new facebook?

Asked by willbrawn (6614points) March 6th, 2009

When the design changed a lot of people complained? Do you like the new design? Or do you miss the past. Isnt the point of technology and design to change and get better with time?

Are you talking the “new” facebook appearance from a few months ago? or are you talking about how fan pages are now more like profile pages, which happened relatively recently?

the “new” general facebook is ok. the new profile pages appearance i don’t care for at all.

it’s changing again, so this question is moot.

Yeah, it’s actually changing AGAIN in just a few days! An auto-updating feed, the ability to filter it by groups of friends, and other features. There’s a demo you can see on Facebook, it was presented to me when I logged in and I tried to find a link for it but I can’t seem to find one right now.

@dynamicduo oh, that’s right. i saw that a few days ago and totally forgot!

I’m looking forward to it. One thing I hate about Facebook is I have to see ALL of my friends or none of them. I couldn’t get list-specific RSS feeds so I eventually turned off the RSS feed. With the new version it seems friend lists play a big part, and you can quickly filter it. The auto-updating is also really nice – that’s one feature I like in Fluther too.

But of course, change is scary for some people, especially those who don’t use it a lot. And it’s impossible (or really inefficient, which is impossible in today’s economy) to maintain two totally different designs to appease people who don’t want to evolve. Being on the cutting edge sometimes cuts you back!

I like it and I’m excited for the new change too. What I like most about Facebook is the auto-updating feeds. I like that I can post a link or photo or whatever and my friends will see it.

I liked it then and i like it now.
I’m also looking forward to the new stuff.

It’s so nice to see a big site like facebook daring to use new technology like a shitload of AJAX

I don’t really mind it either way. I think the reason that I was hesitant initially was because I couldn’t find anything in the new format, but now that I know my way around it doesn’t bother me. I do wish they still would show all the apps that people have, so I know who to or not to send things to.

I have adapted to the new facebook, and I’m pissed that they’re changing it yet again. I don’t like having to relearn how to do everything at all! I guess the new facebook has made some things easier, but I don’t want it to change again.
