I used to use Twinkle and did NOT like it.

Now I use the free Twitterific. I love it.

Gwibber, but soon it won’t be enough since I am part of a few identi.ca groups and follow some tags on twitter. What I really need is an easy way to follow a conversation.

I use Digsby on Windows, and just Firefox with the PowerTwitter plugin on my Mac.

for some reason, none of those Adobe AIR-involved twitter apps work for me.

Hahlo. It’s great, free, and if you are using a Macbook (I don’t know about PC’s) you can make it a menuextra SSB by using Fluid. It’s basically the best thing to happen to my twittering (tweeting?!).

@adreamofautumn heard of anything good for Tiger on PPC?

wilhel1812's avatar

I use Twitterrific. It’s not perfect, but it’s the best i’ve found out there.

As of recently, I’m a Tweetie fan. I’ll be interested to see when Hockenberry and Co. take the next version of Twitterrific, but it’s not there yet.

@eponymoushipster I think Hahlo will work for Tiger, but you won’t be able to use Fluid to make it a stand alone app since Fluid only works with Leopard I believe.

@adreamofautumn yeah, i’m waiting til i get my MacBook to use fluid. hahlo works in the browser, however.

I’m happy with Twinkle for my iPhone.

On my PC, I LOVE ping.fm. Now whenever I update my status, I just send an IM to ping.fm, which is like a buddy, and it posts immediately. Since I always have my gmail and IM open, this is very handy.

Dear @willbrawn,

I use twittelator, of course my iTouch is jailbroken. It’s the best. Check it out.

Love, your twitter/fluther friend,

Sometimes I use Hahlo through a Fluid menu extra, but mostly the web interface. On my iPod I use TwitterFon.

I use Tweetie on the iphone, and have recently become quite pleased with Twitterfox.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@osullivanbr thanks for the heads up on Twitterfox…never’d seen it before. mucho gusto! ole!

osullivanbr's avatar

Yeah it’s kinda cool, just sits there simply, and doesn’t get in the way. I like it.

Twittelator > Tweetie. FOR SURE.

I use TwitterFon. I like it enough. I wish there was an app that would alert you as soon as someone tweets. I know I can receive the texts from Twitter, but I don’t like bogging down my text messages with those.

willbrawn's avatar

Tweetie is the best one I’ve found.

Just grabbed twittefox tonight for firefox. Must say I like it a lot. Great add on. Very impressed with it. Two thumbs up.

Trustinglife's avatar

@willbrawn What do you like about it – why is it an improvement over what you had? Do tell!

willbrawn's avatar

@trustinglife Well because twitterfox is basic. It is constantly running. I have it check tweets every three minutes so I’m up to date with the people I follow. The best thing I like so far is that it’s low key and I don’t have to constantly check a window to view twitter. Give it a try. You’ll like it.

I use Tweetie now. The best free app is Twitterfon.
