No wait, it’s the Happy Jack. Or is it the Magic Bus? Oh I remember now. It’s the Squeeze Box and I never get any sleep.

I have one. If you have a very good internet connection, it is great. If not, well then calls are full of static and very jumpy. I use to have cable internet…no go. I’ve gone to dsl and it seems to work fine. We were told that it could be used in Iraq for outgoing calls so we shipped it to my son. Well, if he could get a decent internet connection, it would be great! You cant beat the price!

Is there a repeating fee of some type?

Does anyone know how it compares to Ooma? I know the price is cheaper for purchase but the features are different.

I think it’s 19.99 a year from their commercial, but I’m guessing plus local taxes yadayadyada…

I was wondering if you could transfer a Vonage Line number?

As far as I know they do not transport numbers. You have a list of numbers that you can choose from. I live in GA and got a TX phone number. That way some of my family can call me for free from their landlines.

Whaaat? You don’t get a local number? And you can’t get calls from any phone?

Depending on where you live you can get a local number. They did not have it for my area. Since most of my family uses cell phones with free long distance, it did not matter. You can get calls from any number cell or landline. It even comes with free voicemail (which you can check from a phone or the computer), caller id and I think call waiting (not sure on that one).

I think they only have local numbers in most larger cities. But, you can select any number that is available from any location. Freaks some people out when you rattle off an area code that they have never heard of but give them a local address!
