What are ways to control the amount of time spent on the internet? Not for kids, for me.

I am trying to find a FREE gadget that is meant to limit computer time. Any ideas—other than pesky alarms?

Try Timeout, i guess. Either way, self control is the way to go.

You could always go back to dial-up. it will be so annoying, you will quit sooner.

Dverhey, thanks for the idea. It is a step in the right direction. I am looking for something that works on IE or a Vista.

Would something like Vista User Time Manager do the trick perhaps?

MrKnowItAll is right though, really to manage your own personal time it really will come down to self control. Any of these software solutions will be set up by you, and as such can easily be changed by you. So you’re still going to need self control, just focused on a different thing.

Thanks everyone. My solution is something called TimeLeft, which is found at timeleft.info

It took a while to figure it out, but it is working like a charm.

Well, glad you figured it out. I sort of assume the majority of people here are on macs, so that’s why i suggested timeout.

I’m actually downloading timeout @dverhey

It might be fun actually… I do actually spend a little too much time on the computer.
