Best iPod Touch cover?
Okay, so my old iPod died after 4+ years of loyal service. :( I’m still bummed because I listen to music for hours per day and my pocket feels so empty without it! I always use my electronics until they literally fall apart.
Anyway, I’m going to get a 1st generation 32 GB iPod Touch. I’ve never had one of these before so what cases are best? I see so many online but I have no idea where to begin!
I’m looking for a good flip case, preferably made out of leather with a magnetic clasp. Can anyone give advice to me?

i really enjoy my 2nd gen with screen protector and silicon case. I know you said you were looking for flip, but hear me out.
I was perusing ebay one fine afternoon and spotted screen protectors a set of 5 for only 3.99 and the silicon case for .99 cents! If you go to your local retailer you pay about 20 each for both. They are by far the best value. I can put it in my pocket with my keys and not worry about it getting scratched. I can drop it on asphalt and not worry about denting the case (not recommended) I guess the point is, shop ebay and things like that. don’t head out to the retail store.
The screen on the iPod touch is glass. It is hard to fuck it up. I have a 1G one and it looks great. I’m a drunk and I drop it all the time. Sometimes I fall asleep with it in my pocket. No problems. I can’t say the same for my 4G nano.
My answer is not a recommendation for a flip case, but I figured I would provide it anyway.
With this generation of iPods, I feel more comfortable not having it totally covered (I had a silicon cover for my 40GB white iPod b/w brick). Plus, I did not like the look of any of the other cases, so I ended up sewing my own. It’s basically a padded pocket with a velcro flap. This has a few benefits: one, it’s padded, I’ve dropped it a few times to no ill effect (once on concrete). Two, the cotton helps keep the screen clean.
If you do decide to get one, I do recommend getting it off eBay. Everyone’s importing the covers and protectors from China anyway, you might as well get a deal and get almost the same product.

I’m going onto ebay now and looking for a case. I got a good deal on a 1g iPod Touch (32 GB) at Best Buy. It should get to me at college around Monday or Tuesday, but I’d like to have a case by then for it.
if only I had a answer to this question…
I have not seen one appealing, and durable case that I like so far.
