When your schedule changes, do you forget what day it is?

Asked by mamabeverley (795points) March 20th, 2009

We had the day off from school today, it is race week end here in Bristol. I told my son, it was almost time for bed, and we had to do homework tomorrow. His reply was, but it is not Sunday yet! I got lost for a minute, thinking it was Saturday. Does that happen to anyone else?

I spent today, again, at the rehab center where my mother is staying. I thought it was Wednesday. Is it?

All the time.

@gailcalled Are you in the U.S.? If you are it is Friday night Eastern Time. It is 10:11 on the East Coast. Is your mom sick?

@Blondesjon Ha Ha… Don’t make me feel old… I am a mom now. No Jonesin’ for me anymore!!

@Marina Thank you… I feel less insane now. I was home all day and didn’t go anywhere but around the block! Need contact with people other than children!

I easily forget what day it is when the schedule changes. I stay at home with the kids, so it’s even worse for me during the summer.

@mamabeverley; My 94 yr old mother broke her wrist on Feb 27. This month has not been much fun for either of us (or my sister.)

I finally figured out that today is Friday but not until 4 this afternoon. And yes, I’m in EST.

(My favorite relative was my Aunt Beverly.)

I never know what day it is. I need to keep track of the weekends, because I work. Plus, all my homework is due Sunday at midnight, and I wait til the last possible minute.

@gailcalled Sorry to hear about your mom, I hope she feels better. My first name is actually Maureen. I became mamabeverley (beverley’s my last name) when my son was in kindergarten. They couldn’t as Maureen very well, so they just called me mamabeverley. They tried Mrs. But they were 5. It just stuck. When I play online games, that is my name!

@jonsblond I stay at home too. To make it worse my hubby works a rotating shift that changes every week. Summers are a killer. One week a month he has to be at work by 5 am… yuck!!

@mamabeverley I’m picturing a bunch of 5 year olds calling you Mrs. But. Too funny! :D

I forget what day it is on a daily basis.

Sometimes. It was harder last year when my work days at the bank varied from week to week.

Yes, and it makes me smile.

@mamabeverley
What’s a schedule? I make my own week. I’m thinking of changing the year too- maybe use the pre Julian calendar.

I never know what day of the week it is. One week I have Sunday and Thursday as my Fridays, and Wednesday as my Monday to start my week. The next week, I have Wednesday as my Friday, but Monday and Friday as my Mondays. I hate my “two Mondays” week. It was especially bad when my Monday was Friday the 13th.

Wow, looking back at that, no wonder I’m always confused!!

When I was in grad school, I used to work the same job seven days a week (I took the weekday shift AND the weekend shift). I would wake up in the morning with no concept of what day it was.
