Is there a way to keep track of the questions you have commented on without having to rely on someone to comment on it to take us back there?

Under the new activity is a list of all the questions you are following. You follow a question when you click “follow this question” or when you comment. You can also stop following a question. So it automatically bookmarks all of them and you can cull at will.
