What's the most creative use of Twitter that you've heard of?

Asked by marauder76 (390points) March 27th, 2009

I’ve only been on Twitter for a few weeks, but have already seen people putting it to very creative use. How have you used it creatively? What’s the coolest thing you’ve seen someone do with it? Most memorable tweet?

I don’t know if this is creative, but I find it weird. I am followed by just about every news anchor in town and quite a few preachers (I don’t attend church). What is the purpose of this? I may never know…

I’ve heard of people updating it as they’re in labor, and then when the baby is born. Pretty creative.

A plant that uses twitter to announce when it’s thirsty. Pretty cool.

there was a special on tv recently where surgeons would update twitter throughout a surgery, explaining the problem, their findings once engaging in the surgery, and their actions

Teachers or presenters can allow students/audience members to discuss the topic and ask questions while the presentation is occurring. This “back channel” keeps the listeners engaged and active.

Not using it. Twitter is utterly moronic and is completely dumb. I have found no redeeming value in that web site. It’s like chat gone stupid.

Can’t let this question go by without a mention of Cursebird created by our very own, RichardHenry

Having it disbanded. Seriously it is the epitome of dumbness. I don’t get it. It has no shape or form, it’s like a lonely lark twittering away.

@fireside I totally didn’t know that RichardHenry created Curse Bird! Awesome. This may be the dumbest moment in twitter history. I think my favorites are from Macheist.com they use “tweet blasts” where if you write the appropriate phrase (that they provide) that is usually plugging some software or something on the appropriate day you get free applications to download.

@Kraken wait, just so i’m clear – you don’t like twitter? because i can’t tell from your comments thus far.
