Is it save to cover the LED of a Toshiba external HDD with tape?

It’s so bright when I’m in my bed, because I save all my downloads on there during the night.

I’ve covered a bright LED from a clock-radio with tape (for the same reasons), and it’s been fine for years. LED lights are low heat, so I think covering them with tape isn’t dangerous.

I’ve covered LED’s all the time. Exactly as Ben said, they’re low heat.
I’m not sure what simplicity is talking about.
