Where can I get A level physics and maths books from for really cheap?

Asked by Myndecho (948points) April 4th, 2009

I’m not sure what A levels would be equivalent to in the USA.

have you tried abebooks.com or Amazon? Depending on how long ago they were published, textbooks can be had for pennies on the dollar.

have you tried ebay?

Perhaps get the appropriate Text book titles from students who have already taken their A levels. Then you can google for the used-textbook sites.

Here is a list of maths textbooks that are freely available online, though a lot of them are rather advanced.

Get an English book while you’re at it.

I’m not sure what’s wrong with me but.
I can’t see spelling mistakes unless the word looks strange (by shape) For example a question I asked a few days ago “Do you thing hanging around with geekier people hinders my chances at attracting a partner?” I put handing I could not see the mistake even by reading it letter by letter, of course I can spell hanging.

I will also type in different words than I’m thinking to put down, I often put life for live and will be unable to read it out differently.
An English book will not help me.

I worked at a used book store for 3 years and sell my own used books/college textbooks online.

abebooks.com (as previously mentioned)-mainly for college kids to get cheaper books, but they have other stuff too

alibris.com – “books you thought you’d never see again”

addall.com – the google of used books

Personally, I buy and sell my textbooks on half.com (sub market of ebay). I find my cheaper there and it is really easy.
