Are there "green energy job" trainings where you live?

Asked by seVen (3486points) April 17th, 2009 from iPhone

I was wondering if the plan of president Obama got into action yet or not . I’d love to take training for a green energy job like wind turbines or solar pannel installations etc.

My husband would love it as well. He has his degree in the environmental field and desperately wants to work in it. I guess we will wait and see what comes about. He is taking a class on becoming a composting or recycling master (can’t remember which). He already does that for a living but wants the certificate. This is just a class they’ve always offered though.

I’m studying right now to take part in LEED.
It’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and they have ways to help you get certified which, I’m hoping, will make it easier to participate and find out about green building jobs. look them up =)

The training classes I have seen in NJ are not free. They have been going on for some time now, for about $800 for a three day course.

Can you post a link about the program President Obama has put in place please?

Nope, Obama has bigger fish to fry, Conservative terrorists.

To my recollection, Obama suggested that Americans take a year to retrain themselves in growth industries. I never heard that it was going to be free.

Here is a list from the US Dept of Energy for Continuing Adult Education and Training in Energy

From that list, i found information on Solar Energy Courses and other certification programs

I live in a small town in TN. We have NO jobs let alone green ones! I love my town but people are losing jobs and taxes are going up to make up for the people that have lost their homes. I hope this changes soon!
