I get the New York Times on line and once a week, I think it is Sunday they send out something that lists the top stories of the preceeding week. Does that help?

I get The Week in magazine format but their website also has much of the same content. Most websites are going to focus on daily news, though and not just leave last week’s stotries on the front page.

Right on the front page, you can see links to articles from:
NY Times, Daily Yomiuri, Marketwatch, Wash. Post, Weekly Standard, USA Today, Washington Monthly, Daily Mail, Huff. Post, American Prospect, Christian Science Monitor, and more.

The best possible place on the net is Google News.

Go to Google, search the topic you’re looking for and click “News”. From there, you can look at archives in order by date, even with filtering options and links to archives by year.

To just check out headlines in general for the day, simply go to Google news without searching for any specific topic. To the right of the top search bar, click “Advanced News Search” to specify a date range for news browsing, or when you look at articles of interest, use the links on the left to choose date ranges of your choice.
