Add dates to posts in Tumblr?

Asked by bigkid (12points) May 7th, 2009

Hey guys I would like to know if there is a way to add dates to posts, this Tumblr theme (http://arcadeagency.tumblr.com/) didn’t come with them, but I would like to add dates above each post. Any ideas would be awesome! Thanks a lot.

You know, all the questions you’ve asked and all the responses you’ve made so far have had to do with this Tumblr project you’re working on.

Maybe it would be a more profitable use of your time to find a Tumblr forum or mailing list that you can post these queries to?

Darn it, I was hoping that was going to be a solution to my problem!!! The thing is, it’s not so much a tumblr problem as it is an html/css one. And from what I’ve seen, there are some smart people on this site!

I’m kinda bummed that you didn’t answer my question, please don’t hold back now.

There are smart people on this site. Smart enough to charge $100/hour or more for a consulting fee. When you start giving back to this site, instead of using it as free tech support, that fee might get waived.

Still not the answer I was looking for, I’ll have to keep looking. Thanks though.

If you want, I’ll be happy to provide you with my consulting rate card.

@bigkid you should really check the documentation first. ^^
Look here under ‘Dates’: http://www.tumblr.com/docs/custom_themes
And why don’t you look at some themes that have added times and dates? Should be fairly easy to figure out how they have done it.

Thank you for that. I’ll have a look.

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that in the Appearances tab on the ‘customize’ page for your profile, there should be a box that you can check or un-check for showing the date on which you uploaded each post. Good luck with everything :)
