I’m sure a lot of people hold the same opinion you do, maybe even most people.

The way I tried to explain it to my mom when she criticized me for letting my underwear show is this: “It’s not like they were looking at my butt crack. That’s what I wear underpants for!”

swtsally's avatar

it looks trashy/tacky.

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

It looks like someone that is severely mentally challenged is responsible for dressing those people. We have a saying here in the Midwest about that. Pull your pants up, you look like a fucking moron!

The worst are the guys that aren’t wearing any underwear, and when they pull up those long shirts, you get a full view of ass crack. That’s the last damn thing I want to see.

Tink's avatar

Like sagging?

eponymoushipster's avatar

wait – are we talking men or women with thongs? because that could definitely effect my answer.

aprilsimnel's avatar

Pfft, no fashionable woman or girl wears low-rise jeans in NYC anymore! Mid-rise skinny jeans, ladies, get with the program!

Ugh, saggin’. Why do boys want to look like prisoners? Am I going to have to start making tasteless jokes about gravity and soap to these fellas?

augustlan's avatar

Not attractive, on either sex.

Darwin's avatar

As @aprilsimnel notes, this fad just makes everyone look as if they are in jail and may be a suicide risk.

Tink's avatar

@aprilsimnel – Yeah mid-rise skinny jeans are what we mostly wear now and guys, sagging is just nasty

hungryhungryhortence's avatar

Men look ridiculous in jeans that saggy, I’d never date one dressed like that.

Tink's avatar

Thats why I only date skaters :)

eponymoushipster's avatar

men wearing this stuff is ridiculous, i agree. and it’s true, most fashionable women don’t wear them anymore, either.

frankly, no undies on a girl is way sexier.

Tink's avatar

My aunt does that sometimes and she’s a big woman

Dansedescygnes's avatar

I think it’s funny how people are so judgmental about this particular style, but would be completely opposed to bashing other styles on the grounds that “it’s just their personal taste”. Well, you know what? I think skinny emo jeans are fugly and make you look like a fucking pussy.

Of course, I’m not a huge fan of sagging either, but I do sag a little bit sometimes when I wear jeans.

Tink's avatar

@Dansedescygnes – Well as I have told you before about sagging skiny jeans, they don’t look too good all the way up but I think the tight tight skinny jeans are better left for girls because some guys are too skinny and they look even skinnier with the emo ones but the regular skinny jeans for guys are better

Dansedescygnes's avatar

I don’t even wear baggy jeans; the jeans I wear are pretty skinny, but not the emo-type skinny; not that tight or “form-fitting”.

marcosthecuban's avatar

@aprilsimnel good point! i have never seen a girl wear pants like that!

La_chica_gomela's avatar

@Dansedescygnes: Yeah, exactly! I definitely don’t wear “low rise” jeans at all. I just wear normal mid-rise that sit about 2 inches below my belly button, but a lot of the time my underwear shows anyway, especially when I’m sitting down or bending over. It’s not that it’s “my style” to show my underwear, it’s more that it happens, and I just don’t really care.

evolverevolve's avatar

@eponymoushipster we never got to your first question. plus i don’t care what anyone says, women are free to wear their pants low and show their thongs, i don’t care who they are or what they look like, it is for my amusement in more ways than one.

jonsblond's avatar

These women have no worries.

marcosthecuban's avatar

@jonsblond gave you ‘great answer’ for that! funny.

La_chica_gomela's avatar

@jonsblond: LOL, that’s a classic sketch!

nayeight's avatar

I have low rise & mid rise jeans & I like them both. Both show my undies when I bend over completely but my low rise show them when I’m sitting. I wear these jeans to class, to shop, or just around so I don’t really care if my undies (sometimes even a little crack if I’m wearing small undies) shows. Weren’t low rise jeans in in the 70’s too? I’m sure there was a little bit if underwear/crack showing then. It’s not that bad as long as you wear it to places where casual dress is accepted.

In reference to sagging with men…it’s usually a bad idea. Baggy pants are fine, I can understand men not wanting their jeans all up on their junk (it gets hot & sweaty down there) but there are limits. The guys who wear their pants tightened under the butt so that their boxers & ass are completely showing are begging for some ass raping. The worst is when they wear shorts & they are sagging so bad that the shorts look like pants. But if you slightly sag or wear baggy pants, there’s nothing wrong with that.

Tink's avatar

@nayeight..ass are completely showing are begging for some ass raping..
Omg LOL I was laughing so hard I think I peed alittle ;)

eponymoushipster's avatar

@evolverevolve i prefer they just wear the thong. or boy shorts. mmmgood.

Tink's avatar

“boy shorts” as in boxers?

evolverevolve's avatar

no, they’re just short shorts

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Tink1113 short shorts. cheekies are also a fav.

Facade's avatar

Don’t wear undies :) no, seriously

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Facade yeah, no undies is tres sexy.

evolverevolve's avatar

@eponymoushipster look what you’ve started

jonsblond's avatar

Love boy shorts!

just sayin’

Tink's avatar

Yeah I like to wear girl boxers around the house

eponymoushipster's avatar

@evolverevolve i know. i’m all about sexy undies on the ladies. granny panties need to go.

@Tink1113 i sure hope you’re a lady…

Tink's avatar

Yeah I am:)

Facade's avatar

there’s nothing like a good g-string

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Tink1113 whew

@Facade yeah, especially when it’s being worn as a funny hat…

augustlan's avatar

@eponymoushipster Watch yourself, laddie. @Tink1113 is like 13 or 14 years old!

Tink's avatar

You thought I was a guy??
Yeah I’m 14!

eponymoushipster's avatar

HOLY S—T!

wait, i didn’t say anything dirty. i 14yr old boy wearing girls’ undies is weird all around. it’s normal for a 14yr old girl. nothing wrong there. right? right?! RIGHT?!

hides from CIA

evolverevolve's avatar

let’s hope that everyone is everything they say they are…...i’m actually a 74-year-old guy. so take that.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@evolverevolve well, if that’s the case, then we know you’re wearing Depends and this thread is probably doing nothing for you. :)

Tink's avatar

Yeah I think I should post I’m a girl so people won’t get confused!!!

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Tink1113 perhaps a more unique avatar is in order…

Tink's avatar

@eponymoushipster – I tried that but it wouldn’t let me from my iPod only the jellies

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Tink1113 oh, well. next time you get to a computer. it’s all good.

p.s. – i’m not a To Catch a Predator type. fyi.

Tink's avatar

@eponymoushipster – Yeah I’ll try it next time.
LOL

Zaku's avatar

Looks dumb, clumsy, sloppy, disrespectful and bothersome to me.

casheroo's avatar

This bothers me, since some people can’t help it. I’d have to buy high waisted pants apparently, for people not to jusge me.
I have a very high waist, and larger hips (for my body type) so my pants are usually low rise. But, my underwear never shows. and sorry @eponymoushipster those “sexy undies” are not comfortable! lol It totally depends on the body type, IMO. I wear skinny jeans, or regular boot cut jeans (which sit higher, right below my waist)

augustlan's avatar

I just want to make it clear that I’m talking about people deliberately showing their underwear. Especially that ridiculous ‘pants belted below the butt’ look. Ugh.

Omgbutteredtoast's avatar

I can’t wear skinny jeans. Not to brag , but im a tall female with a smaller than average waist and full hips and thighs. I try to wear long shirts to cover up my booty, but it’s never just hangin out there.

dynamicduo's avatar

I think it looks so skanky and awful. Then again, it saves me time because I know I should never talk or associate with those people! So what is really a fashion tragedy turns out to have a benefit for me. Yay for silver linings!

Dr_C's avatar

I think that’s the standard dress code for plumbers no?

Either way… not a good look on ANYONE.

Darwin's avatar

@Dr_C – And electricians. It may be in the union guidelines.

Jude's avatar

It also looks as though you a have a shitload of ..shit in your pants. So unattractive.
