Confused a little by the question.

My fave was Barbados although Dom Rep was pretty cool. Jurassic Park was filmed there so you can imagine the breathtaking views!

Hardly! Aruba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Dominica Republic, Barbados, Antigua, Turks & Caicos…there are still more…Bermuda. St. Martin, St Croix (did I spell that one right?)

Geez…there are so many places to go!

All have beautiful locations…some not so great, outside of the tourist areas for tourist, though. A lot of resorts in Jamaica will warn you not to go places, outside of tourist areas, or without groups. There can be some very high crime areas and tourists are targets.

No, that’s not it at all. Perhaps you have only seen limited advertising. In my opinion, Aruba and St Kitts are the two best islands for variety, beauty, safety and value.

I loved the British Virgins, much prettier than the American Virgin Islands. Haven’t been there for years, but so beautiful it fills your heart. Tortola & Virgin Gorda are heavenly.

Curacao is a very popular destination for the Dutch, partly because they can visit a foreign country and still speak their language with the locals. The only place in the world where they can do that anymore.

Yep, things ain’t what they used to be in the good ol’ colonial times!

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to many of these places. While beautiful in it’s own right, Jamaica is one of the least memorable, IMHO. Here’s a partial list to give you some search options. Also, consider your chosen activities when considering a destination. Some places cater more to divers, some to resort dwellers, etc.

Anguilla
Antigua and Barbuda
Aruba
Bahamas
Barbados
British Virgin Islands
Cayman Islands
Dominica
Dominican Republic
Guadeloupe
Honduras
Martinique
Mexico
Montserrat
Antilles
Puerto Rico
Saint Barthélemy
Saint Kitts and Nevis
Saint Lucia
Saint Martin (France)
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Trinidad and Tobago
Turks and Caicos Islands
United States Virgin Islands

Cayman Islands is really overlooked so I think. I lived there for six months and is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been. The food is quite different, but very tasty. The people are the most welcoming people you’ll ever meet. There’s so much to do and see. Like the Botanical Garden, the Turtle farm, swimming with the stingrays, Rum Point, Seven Mile Beach. And if you get there at the right time, you can even experience pirates week :D

Every Caribbean island has it good points, one major one being that it is in the Caribbean. Having lived on a cruising sailboat, I have to say I have enjoyed every single one, except maybe Dominica. However, that was more to do with Hurricane David than anything to do with the island itself.

To @bythebay ‘s list I must add the Venezuelan islands of Isla Margarita, and Los Roques (for diving, swimming, really getting away from it all, and enjoying the sun).

Agree with @rooeytoo. I’ve been to Tortola and Virgin Gorda twice (and Jost Van Dyke once!), and I loved them. The snorkling at the Baths on Virgin Gorda was particularly nice.

From personal experience:
St. Lucia is—by far—the best!
If you watched The Bachelor this past season, you got a glimpse of St. Lucia.
