Any helpful hints on packing a POD?

Asked by nocountry2 (3689points) June 15th, 2009

I am moving soon, and filling a POD with not much – just some valuables and things I’ll need to start a new life. I’m going to take a road trip for a few months until I figure out where I’m ending up. Anybody have packing experience or suggestions?

Heavier items on the bottom, lighter ones on the top. Plenty of paper or bubble wrap around breakables in their boxes, and possibly even double-box them to be certain nothing gets smashed.

If you don’t have enough to fill it completely, then I would fill it to a uniform height to avoid things falling when the POD is moved.

I am sorry to be ignorant, but what is a POD?

Sounds like you have made some big decisions since February, @nocountry2. Very best wishes to you.

At first I thought you were talking about one of these. Then I read the rest of the question.
Use good boxes. They are cheap insurance.
