Buying electronics in Halifax, Canada. Where?

Asked by HeNkiSdaBro (392points) June 19th, 2009

Don’t really know the names of big canadian electronics retail chains – can you guys help me out naming some good options and hopefully cheap ones too. Sales tax? Tax-free? thanks!

I highly doubt you’d find any tax free/duty free ones.

The major Canadian electronic brand stores are Future Shop and Best Buy. They’re owned by the same managing company so you won’t really find any better deals between the two, but if you have the time and inclination you could give them both a peek, sometimes they carry different stuff and at different prices. Here’s a link to the Halifax location of Future Shop.

No stores in Halifax are “tax free”
like dynamicduo said, Future Shop, Best Buy, The Source, Zellers, Walmart, Atlantic Superstore,
Another option is second hand, Pawn shop, Kijiji, flea market

What kind of electronics are you looking for?

Lol, the only way you can run out of tax is buying from a relative or another person who want to get rid of it. No store can afford to go tax free in Halifax :).
