Is it good to keep all your info in one place?

Asked by pezz (1291points) July 1st, 2009

I have been looking at Netvibes with the thought of using at as a start page. However I notice that you have to give your log ons & passwords to all your sites of interest and blogs to this one place. How safe is this?

Are you suggesting that I should have more than one wife?

She’s in charge of everything – if you don’t believe me, just ask her.

Seriously, aside from the fact that she does coordinate everything, it is essential to have a redundancy system.

Never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, place sensitive information online. Security in such situations is dependent upon their weakest link, and they survive by only hiring weak links.

Only if you know how to use proper security. I have a lot of stuff on my computer, inside a symantic security lock. I wouldn’t even consider putting them on a non-secure site that I wasn’t familiar with.

Thanks for your input. I must admit that I like the idea of Netvibes, but I’m not happy that we will have email, Facebook etc passwords.
