IPhone 3GS voice memo deletion?

Asked by Deepness (1145points) July 11th, 2009

How do I delete a voice memo from my iPhone? I use the built-in voice memo app. If I delete a memo from within the app, a few minutes later the memo re-appears.

Do you have mobileme? It might be pushing the memo right back to your phone.

@willbrawn Yes, I have mobileme

check your settings and turn off voice memo push then. Thats my best advice, cause it sounds like its re-sync with it. Same thing happens if you delete a video on the phone, then sync via iTunes and magically the deleted video is back.

You need to tell both the phone and the computer that you dont want it.

I was able to delete mine but do not push to mobileme.

@willbrawn Any chance you can tell me how to turn of the sound of the video camera turning on and off?

@dog as far as I know mute the phone, otherwise it will do the shutter sound.

Since when do memos sync to mobileme?

willbrawn's avatar

@bluedoggiant I was experiencing the same thing with my podcasts when I used Mobileme. Its not listed as something that sync’s but it was doing it.

well how can you access it via mobileme?

I didn’t. I just know when I erased it on the go a couple minutes later it would be back.

Ehh as far as I can tell, from Apple’s Documentation and the fact that there are no reports on the internet about it, Voice Memos shouldn’t sync with MobileMe. I recorded many memos with my mom’s iphone which syncs with MobileMe and deleted them because they were simply tests, they never synced back.
