What’s something you would fight against/for no matter what?

Asked by DominicX (28808points) July 11th, 2009

I don’t mean physically “fight” or die over, but what’s an issue that you are very passionate about that you feel you would never give up on?

I will never give up fighting for the rights of homosexuals and against prejudice directed towards them. I don’t care how many times I find myself involved in it or how many times I’ve seen the same crap, it’s something that I will never stop. I’m never just going to decide to sit down and take it. I’ve been told the issue is “old” and to “let it go” and “just accept it the way it is”. No. Not going to happen, sorry. The “way it is” is not good enough. :)

I know it sounds lame, but I have cleared some things up regarding homosexuality/homosexuals to people on the internet and they have thanked me for it and I do feel like I made a difference. I fight against false Catholic stereotypes too. I remember this girl I didn’t even know said something about “Catholics are against gay people” and I overheard it and told her the truth about it and she thanked me. Just some random girl who was probably a junior when I was a freshman in high school that I never saw again.

Disclaimer: Obviously, I’m realistic and I don’t plan on ruining my life over this. I’m not asking if you would die for it.

@DominicX Well, I picked the same fight you did . . . LOL With both of us (and several million more, maybe we will make some headway!)

I think it is ridiculous that people are ever made to feel that they must hide or apologize for who they love . . .

I will always fight against all types of prejudice. I will also always fight for the people I love.

I will also always fight against all types of prejudice. I annoy the shit out of people, but I don’t really care. There are just certain things I will never accept or even tolerate.

Respect, not for people to respect me, but for people to respect one another and themselves.

I will always fight against ignorance in regards to the equality among all humans, no matter their age, gender, income level, race or sexuality.

I will always fight against littering. I get so upset when someone tosses something out their car window, leaves cigarette butts at playgrounds or dumps their ashtray in a parking lot. People can really be lazy!

infant male circumcision, childhood abuse in any form, animal cruelty, homosexuality, freedom to speak your mind, as long as it isn’t hurtful to others, i.e. hate speech. Freedom of or from religion, arachnaphobia. I was cured of it, and others can be as well. All it takes is a little understanding for our eight legged friends.

I also am fighting against ignorance and stupidity in general, but it seems an uphill battle sometimes. God must love stupid people, he made so many of them. :-)

Right now i’m fighting the so called 21st. Century socialism, i think that stupid idea is ruining latin american countries, dividing its people and pushing them to an isolated state, eg. Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia and Honduras…...

@evelyns_pet_zebra

You didn’t specify which ones you were for or against. Are you for or against infant male circumcision and homosexuality? Just out of curiosity.

Also, I’m a strong arachnophobe.

Animal cruelty.

Cruelty against another person.

I read somewhere – “There are a few clear things in life. Here’s one: You treat people with dignity”. It stuck to me since.

People who are intolerant of other peoples’ cultures.
And the Dutch.
