What does it mean for Holden Astra buyers if the model is discontinued?

Asked by petercostello (25points) July 11th, 2009

Am looking into buying an Astra in australia but have just read that Holden plans to discontinue the astra in the AUS market. Will this mean that there will be problems with parts in the future or will parts be pretty much interchangeable with other holden models?

Thanks for your help.

Odds are there will still be independent companies that make the specialized parts at least for a while, plus there will be stock piles of parts that have yet to sell out. Eventually, however, replacement parts would have to come from junk yards. However, this assumes that you will keep this car for several decades. If you keep it for 10 years only it should still be okay.
