Things to do late at night?

Asked by Parrappa (2428points) July 23rd, 2009

I find myself staying up late almost every night until around 3–4 AM. It’s not that I can’t sleep, it’s just that I don’t feel like going to sleep.

If you’re like me, what do you end up doing during those late nights? Do you ever feel guilty for staying up late?

I’m fluthering. It’s pretty fun. I should probably go read a book though before I get too disgusted with myself.

I’m similar to you. I stay up till 2–3 am and then think “Yeah I probably should go to sleep now, else I’ll waste the whole day away”, rather than thinking “sheesh I’m tired”. (I absolutely hate sleeping past 10. I’ve decided that’s the point where I feel like the day’s wasted)

What do I do till then? watch TV online or play computer games.

I stay in Fluther till about 3 am at times

You can do what I did at the age of 14 and push your friend down the street in a wheelbarrow. It’s quite fun!

That is until the cop stops you and tells you to go home.

I usually fluther on just to see how late @Tink1113 stays up (occasionally past 3AM)

@Tink1113….I think @jonsblond is on to something….do you have a wheelbarrow….I’m up for a ride!

Tink's avatar

@whatthefluther Absolutley! You get in and I’ll throw you down the street

Read a magazine until my eyes close, then I stagger in to bed.

Lie down with my two year old grandson, in hopes he will finally fall asleep.

Play Yahtzee online until I have to wake myself up to go to bed.

@Tink1113….Payback for running over your toe earlier, huh? OK, I had it coming! Next time, aim for a convertible, OK?

those late nights = every night for me
i fluther til dawn sometimes. or play sims. or read! or sometimes, when i’m feeling somewhat motivated (hah!) i draw or paint or write.

What I find weird is that I stay here till 3am, and usually wake up at 9am. And the first damn thing I do is Fluther! I don’t even bother to go pee till I have had my doze of early Fluthering.

I fluther and watch movies. Usually horror movies. I learned at a young at that horror movies make me sleepy. Lol. I usually do that til dawn. It gets kinda boring sometimes, so I also play a browser-based game called the nethernet. If you’ve never tried it, it’s pretty great for boredom. It’s an add-on for firefox that turns the entire internet into a game. It’s a great way to find interesting and addicting websites to waste tons of time on!

Listen to books on my iPod. But I must have momentary dozes because a lot of the books don’t seem to make much sense!

reading and fluthering would be my reply as well (...seeing a pattern here – could it be that Fluther is now the lead cause of insomia?!?)

@Tink1113 and @whatthefluther – you guys are hilarious. =P hahaha!

I either read, Fluther or listen to music.

Sometimes all three at once. Insomniac multi-tasking.

I’ve been a night owl since childhood. That’s just the way my internal Circadian rhythms roll so I’m also multitasking. Watching TV news programs while doing Sudoku or Fluther——gotta keep those brain cells regenerating and creating new pathways, ya know.

I also check out any price drop or new apps for free for my iphone and try a few out. Pandora Box is the most awesome application for finding them alll.

However, once I finish Fluthering now, I’m going to Google Nethernet (Thank you, lilly lithium) and maybe try it out. I have only ever used Firefox as a browser and don’t know how I missed this little tidbit. That’s what I appreciate about Fluther—I usually learn something new every day.

When I was in middle school and high school, it was always reading. I used to read till I couldn’t possibly stay awake any longer! Usually 2–3 am.

Now the only thing that’ll keep me up late is watching TV online! I’m usually asleep by midnight, but if I’m in a particularly tense bit of a series I really like I might watch an extra episode and stay up till 1 or even 2 if it’s the weekend. …I swear I’m not as old as I sound!

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

I’m surprised no one said masturbate. What else are late nights for, besides fluthering?

TitsMcGhee's avatar

@evelyns_pet_zebra: I was actually just about to…

I watch TV or movies, poke around facebook, fluther, or other internet stuff, chat with people, masturbate, smoke weed, or drive around while listening to music and thinking about liiiiife.

whatthefluther's avatar

@Hambayuti….And I, thank you as well!
And no @Tink1113 , we are not going to the top of that steep hill, next time!
See ya….wtf

Tink's avatar

@whatthefluther Aww dang! What about that mountain over there??

sccrowell's avatar

jonsblond's avatar
