Is there a list of games that are no longer ESA protected?

Asked by Phobia (1470points) July 24th, 2009

I do a little SNES and NES emulation on my computer, and I understand that some games are no longer ESA protected. I take this as meaning they are now Freeware. I don’t like breaking copyright laws. Call me crazy, but I like supporting those who have worked to give me this product.

The problem is, I can’t seem to find a list of ESA protected things, or an easy way to tell if it’s protected. I’ve found a few lists of games that are in fact protected, but these lists are a few years outdated.

Much lurve to anyone who can find a list!

I’m 99% sure that the games on this site are all abandonware + no longer ESA protected.

Since the site is still up, and it hosts so many, it seems fairly unlikely that any copyright infringement is occurring.

Thanks, some of the other sites I used had games I just know are ESA protected, so it made me very wary about downloading from them. I’ll take a look around on it.

Don’t expect a large selection.
