If there was a radio station called RADICAL RADIO, what songs do you think would be good to play on it?

Asked by lloydbird (8740points) July 25th, 2009

This question is inspired by my respect for musicians who are prepared to ‘go out on a limb’ for their political or socially conscious beliefs, regardless of any ill effects that doing so might have on their careers or standing.
I would also like to discover new songs in this vein.
A few that I would nominate for airplay would be:

Bob Marley – Get Up Stand Up.
Kate Bush – Breathing.
Bruce Springsteen – Born in the USA.
The Police – Spirits in a Material World.
Sting – They Dance Alone.

You’ll need Billy Holiday’s Strange Fruit there as a classic that’s for sure.
