What does a "lazy day" look like to you?

Asked by Jude (32198points) July 28th, 2009

No school, no work, maybe (if you’re lucky, the rugrats are elsewhere)—what would be your ideal lazy day (make it realistic, too. Boys, no scantily clad Megan Fox giving you an inner thigh massage or, ladies, no, Brad Pitt giving you a french tip mani and a temple massage whilst in his gotchies).

Sleeping til my body naturally wakes up (usually noonish), followed by biking to brunch with the boy where we don’t do much deep talking, just discussing the week’s Savage Love. Then getting a mani/pedi and browsing some stores, followed by coming home and watching crappy Bravo TV for hours and hours, until the Chinese food arrives.

Sounds soooo good.

Doesn’t look like anything because I’m under the sheets asleep. For the 24 hours straight. As are the kids. And the cats. And no one is hungry or pooping or vomiting. And no eye gook.

extremely booring…sitting all day long in front of the tv just watching the same channels over and over again…lazy day in my view is consuming a lot of calories because u sit and sit and eat and eat..because u have nothing to do except both of these…:)

It looks a lot like the insides of my eyelids.
Later, its appearance changes subtly to resemble a bowl of scrambled eggs and bacon with salsa.
Finally, it takes its final shape as my Playstation.

Today was a lazy day.

I’m off from work on Tuesdays and it happened to be oppresively hot and and humid today.

So my daughter and I stayed in the air-conditioning, caught up on some recorded TV shows, sang some songs, ate some fruit and French-fried potatoes, drank ice tea and napped. A good day all around.

admittedly I did dry mop the floor and wash a load of clothes, but I can’t ever do nothing.

It can look counter-productive in many cases. It all depends on how industrious I’m feeling.

Im doing stuff on my computer, sleeping till i naturally wake up, perhaps a 1 hour training session, eating a whole lot, sleeping again

My lazy day would consist of: Getting up and watching the news as long as I want i love to watch cable news, eating some oatmeal, wearing jammies all day long. I would have nowhere to go, nothing that I absolutely had to do, dishes could wait until tomorrow. I would sit in my chair most of the day, listening to tv, messing around on the computer and knitting. These days don’t happen often, so when they do, I really cherish it.

I don’t have to imagine. Today I woke up at 10:00, went immediately to the couch and watched TV until noon, then I ate lunch and watched my daily two hours of Home Improvement and then more TV until about 4:30, then I ate dinner. And now I’m here.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@J0E two hours of Home Improvement? mygoshman. that’s practically torture.

J0E's avatar

@eponymoushipster yup, everyday from 12–2 Home Improvement is on TBS…and it’s most definitely not torture.

I’m unemployed and currently don’t go to school, so everyday is a lazy day (after I go through my daily ritual of webcomics and job hunting).

Ideally, I would be playing video games with my husband, going out for fast food for lunch and a nice meal for dinner, then home for ice cream while watching a movie and then having sex and passing out for 10 – 12 hours.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@J0E i was around when that show was new. i can’t watch 10minutes of it anymore.

J0E's avatar

I was too young when it first started, now it is one of my favorite sitcoms.

@Likeradar sounds lovely. :)

(today, i had the luxury of having one. slept ‘til around noon-ish, two bowls of chocolate chunk ice cream drowning in gourmet hot fudge sauce, 3 cups of joe, and porn).

eponymoushipster's avatar

@jmah i’ve told you’re my favorite, right? ;)

Today was pretty good. I’m helping my neighbor build a fence. So I worked on that until about noon. Then It got too hot and we stopped. I like building stuff so I had a lot of fun and I am getting paid.

Now it is beer-time.

I can’t really come up with a perfect lazy day.

Jude's avatar

@eponymoushipster and, you’re my favorite, too. <<exaggerated wink>>

I want @jonsblond‘s lazy day as well.

I can’t imagine what a lazy day is, since we have a toddler.
But, if we had a day without him…

Wake up as late as we want. Probably 10:30am
Get breakfast at a restaurant
Go home and play video games for a couple hours
Nap
Go to the movies
Go out for a late dinner
Sex
Sleep

irocktheworld's avatar

@casheroo Your lazy day would be awesome!! Besides the 2nd to last part :P

Spending all day on Fluther

niigerian's avatar

A wonderful summer day, mid to upper 70’s with a very blue sky filled with big fluffy clouds. This type of day makes me feel like finding a shady spot and taking an afternoon nap.

NaturalMineralWater's avatar

It looks like one that sits on the couch all day and won’t find a job.
