Where can I find sneakers that are made in America?

It’s important to me that my sneakers aren’t made in sweatshops.

According to this site, New Balance shoes are made in America.

I think that “Simple” brand shoes are made in America. They make fashion sneaks, though, not very athletic ones.

Why does it matter?

Probably in a museum.

Don’t kid yourself, there are poor conditions everywhere, and good conditions as well. There are plenty of companies who take great pride in their work and their employees welfare. One need not purchase things made in the US to be morally at peace.

@MrGeneVan: What. The. Fuck?

tiffyandthewall's avatar

@MrGeneVan did you read the description? the original person doesn’t to support companies whose workers are working for little to no money under shitty conditions.

@tiffyandthewall: Maybe he can’t read good with his head at that angle.~

And head’s up.

Google it. All I did was type in “sneakers made in USA”.

@asmonet how about if I “entice” more than “tempt”?

[mod says:] Back on topic, you crazy jellies! =]

Dr_C's avatar

@Allie is there any way i can entice you? i actually own both “simple” shoes (made from recycled materials) and “New Balance”.... does that do it for you?

I found this site that has Made in the USA items. Do be aware that companies are allowed to put the Made In America tag on items that are essentially made overseas, shipped here, then a few seams stitched together.
