How to stop post shower sweating?

Asked by jaketheripper (2779points) August 6th, 2009

After i take a shower and use lotion (I have dry skin) if I am even a little active or hot within a half an hour of finishing my shower i sweat profusely. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

BABY POWDER!!

Slowly cool down the shower until you are feeling cold and your skin is cooled. Then dry off and apply the lotion.

I have found cold showers keep me cool much longer (learned that from a Seinfeld episode).

And there’s no excuse not to use baby powder every time you shower.

And if you can’t handle an entirely cold shower, try lukewarm with a burst of cold at the end.

I have a fan going in the bathroom all the time. That also helps.

Perry is completely correct, moisturiser locks heat into the skin, this is why you shouldn’t apply moisturiser to fresh sunburn.

Take cooler showers.

If you can, keep the door of the bathroom open when you shower (seriously). If you take a warm shower with the door closed, all the humidity makes it like a rain forest or a sauna and will aggravate your condition. If you can’t shower with the door open, open it as soon as you can when you finish the shower. Get the humidity out of the room.

If you have a window in your bathroom, keep THAT open if you can’t keep the door open.

The hotter your shower the more your body is going to need to cool off. I finish my showers with a couple minutes of cold/cool water and I’m good the rest of the day. Not much point in getting out of the shower sweaty
