@ChazMaz

But what do you think of the proposal in general? Should the Fed have so much power that they can control laws and not be transparent?

CMaz's avatar

I think it is a good idea. A great idea, I wish we were not in this position to begin with.

Should the Fed have so much power. Comes with controlling the money. That was the intent all along.

The Fed I believe back in the 80’s was given by congress the freedom to take executive authority over the government if and when they choose to..
Meaning they can, but at this time wont, take control away from the government. But in a way they already are.

Sort of like the bank holding the note on your home. It is YOUR home if you keep paying, but if you read the fine print of your home loan. The bank can if they choose to demand and require you to pay in full the cost of the house or take it away from you if you do not pay up.

The Fed, basically a private bank, has lent us ( the us government) trillions of dollars. As the saying goes never a lender or bower be.

Go call your bank up and request an audit. See where that gets you.

Good to know the choir agrees.

I don’t understand how the hell they got to be in the position they did and why the government can’t do something about it.

We are at almost 12 trillion dollars in Debt to the Federal Reserve. They own the Governments ass.

Bri_L's avatar

I would suggest that makes it audit time!

I think it’s completely necessary. That’s all I’ll get say.

I’m with Constitutional Laws and those who protect it.

I think it is absolutely necessary! It is not good to have the whole financial system of the country run by an independent for-profit organization

A brilliant idea, of course.
I shared this with a mutual friend of ours awhile back…

There is no way the f’ing fed should have as much power as it does with such opacity. I say blow it all wiiiiiide open. If they have nothing to hide, no problem. Right?

If Ron Paul loses the bid for Presidency in 2012, I say he just goes completely postal. He just may not need the popular vote to bring us the change we need.

Ron Paul is a whacko.
