Seconding the Ace Attorney series, and also adding Professor Layton and the Curious Village.

It’s not out yet, but Scribblenauts will be incredible.

Get an R4 and download the games, then you can get anything you want.

EDIT: (Not for DSi’s, it seems)

Advance Wars: Dual Strike

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin

I wouldnt get an R4, you should get a CycloDS: Evolution, no fuss no muss, just download roms and play.

Let’s see. On my r4ds (which is what holds all my games in one cartridge) I have…

Avalon Code
Big Brain Academy
Contact
Drawn To Life
Final Fantasy – Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
Final Fantasy – Crystal Chronicles: Echos of Time
Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy IV
Harvest Moon
Harvest Moon Cute
Lego Batman
MySims
Ninjatown
Phoenix Wright – Ace Attorney
Nintendogs
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Summon Night: Twin Age
Tetris DS
and Zenses Ocean.

Not to mention I have Super Mario Bros, Pokemon Diamond, and Super Princess Peach as well.

@Mozart They have an r4i which is for the DSi.

@eambos I CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT GAME. I’ve been psyched about it for months now.

Final Fantasy XII
I haven’t played the new one yet.

I personally love Harvest Moon. Pokemon is also a very solid game, as often as they churn it out. New Super Mario Bros is fun. I permanently damaged my screen by playing too much Magnetica without a screen cover, so that’s a testament to its fun.

And then of course there is Scribblenauts, which I am SO looking forward to! Only a month left!

@dynamicduo I can sit and play Harvest Moon for like 4–5 hours at a time, if I have nothing else to do. It’s so simple, and so addicting. Love it!

@chelseababyy I also play this farming game on Facebook called Farmville… so addictive, but not as fulfilling as actual Harvest Moon!

I second Professor Layton and the Curious Villiage, and a new Prof Layton is due out at the end of this month. I thought Trace Memory was fun (but some folks find it boring—it sort of depends on whether or not you like story-based games or action-based). My favorites, aside from Professor Layton include: Animal Crossing; Magician’s Quest; NY Time Crosswords; Picross;and Peggle. If you want to try something really unique and fun, Rhythm Heaven is a great pick.

The world ends with you.
Spectacular. Then save your money until scribblenauts comes out and buy it.

I just got the DSI so I don’t know any good games for it. Sorry.

Try Dementium: The Ward and Dementium 2. They are awesome games that take the DS to it’s fullest. The game may not have perfect graphics, but they are some of the scariest and funnest games I own
