They were probably pulled in for moddering.
Why? Because they might have not followed the guidelines

antimatter's avatar

How do they use the discretion to moderate a question, or who should decide which question is acceptable?

All of this information can be found in the Guidelines that Tink linked to.

Because they may be of a graphic nature

If your question doesn’t comply with the guidelines it will be modded (assuming a user has flagged the question).

Also if your answers don’t comply with the guidelines they’ll get pulled too.

Nothing to do with graphic nature at all. In fact, we’ve had some pretty raunchy discussions here. That isn’t it.

Chances are, if your question was removed, it was either insubstantial in nature, does not provoke intelligent discussion or was flamebait. Everything is discussed in the guidelines, give it a once over. The creators of the site made them entertaining for a reason.

Does it give them the right to decide whether a question is acceptable or not or within the the terms of the guidelines. I agree some questions are dumb, but some may mean something.

Yes. That’s their responsibility.

Because you touch yourself at night.

I have to say: read the guidelines. It really is all in there. Questions are removed because they violate some part of the guidelines.

Welcome to Fluther. This is a private site, and the owners have established their own rules about what type of questions are acceptable. The moderators use the guidelines to determine whether to send a question back to the asker for revision.

If your question disappeared, you should have a message to that effect with some information on what you need to do to get it accepted.

The vast majority of the users support the moderation, which is not intrusive and is performed in an even-handed manner.

If they didn’t, Ivan would have almost nothing to talk about…~

@eponymoushipster

Ah, so these are the fabled underhanded Ivan-bashing comments that I’ve heard so much about.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@DominicX underhanded? i’m pretty sure that was head on. and it’s not bashing; it’s simply stating a fact.

What, we only have one moderator now?

jho1188's avatar

Who is Ivan? And why are we bashing him?
