What are some float ideas for Michael Jackson's song Black or White?

Asked by candacewells4 (83points) August 20th, 2009

My son’s school chooses a theme each year for their football homecoming activities. This year, they have chosen Michael Jackson, and each class chose a different song of his to represent. My son’s class has “Black or White”, and they must dress according to their song on a certain day for homecoming week, as well as decorate a float for the parade and wall in the school. Any ideas as to how you would decorate the float/wall and how you would dress?

Well, and this is just a thought, but you might want to involve the colors black and white.

They could dress as Macaulay Culkin?

Here’s the Wiki page for it, maybe it’ll help: Black or White

Just watch the video, there are plenty of ideas to be drawn from it. Having kids dress up in the traditional clothes of various cultures is the first one that comes to mind.

Black and white theme with a red heart at the center.

Alternating black and white children holding hands around the perimeter of the float.

Lots of objects that are both black and white: tuxedo, cat, skunk, yin/yang etc.

What about making the float like a giant piano or keyboard?

Another option is a chess board with the children as pieces.

Ever seen a Busby Berkeley movie?

Or those stadium routines where fans sitting in a particular section get large cards to hold with different colors that form patterns and designs when they flip them at the same time?

If they’re motivated to practice, they could do something quite cool

Set it up so it catches on fire halfway through the parade. They students can extinguish it with two liters of Pepsi.
