Why are my geraniums growing long and lanky?

After making cuttings from my mother’s favorite geranium, I now have 4 plants. Two of the plants are in front of the south windows and two are in front of the west windows. I would think this would be plenty of sunlight, but all of the plants are really growing tall and thin. Is there something that I don’t understand?
