General Question

I can't send outgoing messages on my iPhone...

im getting a message on my IPHONE saying
the connection to the outgoing server “mail.optonline.net” failed.
i receive emails but i cant send them

Is this over EDGE or wi-fi?

My router acts funny sometimes (Actiontec from Verizon) and I have to go into its control panel via a browser at 192.168.1.1, select the list of networked devices, and give a name to any device it has listed as “new host 3” or whatever.
