Why did fluther chose a jellyfish as its mascot?

I thought it was because jellyfish think as a “hive mind”? I dunno it’s original and appealing.

You have it all wrong. Fluther never chose a jellyfish as a mascot. Dr. J chose Fluther.

A group of Jellyfish is called a fluther.
As for why Andrew and Ben chose a jellyfish theme, I’m not sure.

the nematocysts are controlled from behind a curtain.. Andrew’s Floating head claims to be in charge when behind a small curtain hides Ben working the controls.
